Home & Gardens - 3735 Inverness Drive Originally designed by architect William Ward Watkins and built in 1947, the house was renovated in 1991 by the current owners. Working with Dwyer Interiors and architect William Furbush, they updated the kitchen, family room, bedrooms, and baths. The plaster walls, wood floors, and hardware in the front hall, living room and dining room are original. The gardens were designed by McDugald-Steele in 1991 and were updated by Texan Landscapers in 2008 after the heavy loss of trees from Hurricane Ike. Additional property was added in 2010 to create a park-like setting in the backyard with patios and a kitchen garden. Texan Landscapers maintains the yard organically. The delightful sculpture of a bronze dog called “Cyril” was cast in Korea by the artist Gimhongsok. The names of the owners’ dogs, as well as Cyril’s, come from the children’s books about Maisy the Mouse by Lucy Cousins.
