Home & Gardens - 56 Tiel Way
This contemporary residence was designed by architect Hugo Neuhaus and completed in 1952. The home was composed in three volumes: the bedroom suite, central living and dining area, and kitchen. The original home boasted a wooded landscape. In 2005, the present owner bought the house and spent 15 months understanding the space before embarking on the current renovation of both the home and garden. In 2007, the talented Landscape Architect, Johnny Steele began to design a plan that has developed into the terraced gardens you see today. Extensive tree damage caused by Hurricane Ike in 2008, created natural openings in the garden. No newcomer to the Azalea Trail, this home was on the Trail in 1954!
