Azalea Trail 2014
March 7 - 9, 2014; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Built in 1963, this neo-Georgian River Oaks classic was designed by Houston native architect Hamilton
Brown. Originally surrounded by an equestrian presence, the residence was renovated in the year 2000.
Back in the day, it was not uncommon to see the original owners enjoying a Sunday afternoon horseback
ride to nearby Memorial Park. The present owners purchased the home in 2007 and commissioned
interior designer Miles Redd of New York to fit their vibrant yet cozy lifestyle. The present owners cleared
the once wooded backyard and surrounded it with towering magnolias enabling added green space.
Initially designed by McDougald Steele in the year 2000, the gardens have been maintained by Keepin'
Green Enterprises since 2003. Azaleas, loropetalums, hibiscus, bougainvillea, boxwood hedges, and crepe
myrtles abound.
