Buffalo Bayou Partnership
This represents the second half of our pledge. This will fund the Perennial Gardens at the Wortham Fountain (part of the Buffalo Bayou Park Project).

Pro-Vision (a charter school)
For the school's Urban Farm (a large agricultural initiative on the campus; the production and sale of produce instills a spirit of entrepreneurialism in underserved young men): Premium Garden Mix soil for 1/4 acre of land
The Brookwood Community
For the Meditation Garden around the Worship Center: supplies (trees, benches, shrubs, flowers, soil, and irrigation system), the labor to refurbish the area, and the labor for maintenance.
Nature Discovery Center
A water feature in Russ Pittman Park (the park is a very popular destination for serious birders) in Bellaire to provide habitat for migrating and native birds. The grant will cover stone, sand, pump, valves, electrical, piping and piping labor, plumbing labor, etc. The Nature Discovery Center is an educational center to enhance and instill a love of nature in children, and to spark an interest in the study of nature and science. School groups visit the Center nearly every day.
The Women's Home
To refurbish the outdoor seating in the pocket gardens at the Treatment and Transitional Housing Program, and to add additional seating in the Serenity Garden at the residential block. The Women's Home provides programs and shelter for single women who have histories of addiction, mental illness, homelessness, domestic abuse, etc.

Crossroads School
To purchase materials to create two green spaces for an outdoor classroom to include a herb garden, vegetable garden, compost section and flower and potting station.

To create the Memorial Park Greenhouse Outdoor Education area for the public, with thirteen demonstration beds ROGC will be recognized with a donor plaque.
The Menil Collection
To revitalize the Menil House Rose Garden and remove and replant trees.
Urban Harvest, Inc.
For a grant to assist in funding "I Grow Houston", a program to build a community garden in Sunnyside, an area with poor access to healthy fresh food.

To be applied to an Invasive Plant Species Eradication Unit. Specifically, funds would be used to purchase tools and materials such as shovels, rakes, axes, clippers, uniforms and other necessary equipment needed to fight invasive species.
Camp for All
To purchase 5 new 95 gallon Live Oaks to place in key program areas where shade is needed.
Student Conservation Association
To help fund SCA's community conservation crew programs in Houston. The crews provide underserved urban teens, an opportunity to transform themselves while also transforming the green space of Houston.
Peckerwood Garden
To support ongoing operations:
Conservation: Its estimated 3000 species and cultivars of rare and fragile plants, the Garden is a successful conservation preserve and plant trial ground where new plants are tested for hardiness and garden worthiness.
Research and Education: Maintaining a seed bank and seed exchange program that allows other horticultural and botanical organizations to have access to its rare plants.
Usage of new acreage: They have recently added 20 new acres which house a small pavilion, an office, equipment storage building, and 6 greenhouses.
Quentin Mease Hospital: To help renovate their only garden to create a horticulture therapy garden that will provide a healing environment to enhance the patient's recovery during their stay in the hospital.
The Harris School: To rebuild a working garden destroyed by Hurricane Ike. The garden provided a quiet meditation area, a picnic spot and an outdoor science center.
Tanglewood Park: Funds will be used for a much needed bench in the park.
River Oaks Park: Help with a major landscape beautification program begun in 2009.

Member of The Garden Club of America, River Oaks Garden Club was founded in 1927 and has made many contributions to the Houston community in the areas of conservation, horticulture and civic beautification. Proceeds from the Azalea Trail support these ongoing projects:
Maintenance of River Oaks Garden Club Forum of Civics Building and Gardens. The gardens are open to the public.
Maintenance of the 14-acre gardens of Bayou Bend, the former estate of Miss Ima Hogg, and now the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Establishment of the Bayou Bend Gardens Endowment, a charitable trust for the perpetual maintenance of the gardens. The endowment is supported by public contributions.
Host of the annual Sadie Gwin Blackburn Environmental Seminar, which is open to the public. Admission is free.
Publication of A Garden Book for Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast.
